The Gävleborg district is looking for you who want to work as a forest consultant with us.

The focus is currently on contributing to our work with supervision according to the Forestry Act and the Environmental Code. You will have many contacts with landowners and employees in the forestry sector, as well as with other stakeholders related to the forest. As a forest consultant, you will have a job with varied and stimulating tasks, as well as opportunities for professional development. You will be part of a team with other experienced supervisors. You will belong to the Gävleborg district but will work in a larger geography together with administrators from other districts.

Responsibilities

Initially, you will primarily work with processing logging notifications, supervision according to the Forestry Act and the Environmental Code. The tasks are mainly performed in the office, but fieldwork also occurs. The work involves contacts with forest owners, other active participants in forestry, and relevant authorities and organizations. As an employee of the Swedish Forest Agency, you are expected to contribute to the development of our operations.

Depending on your skills, focus, and the needs of the organization, other work may also become relevant. Examples of this could be participating in advisory activities, inventories, various projects, or our commissioned activities. In your work, you may need to operate over a larger geography, which means you may need to travel a bit further at times.

Qualifications

You have a forestry or natural science degree or another relevant education with associated experience in our work area. Relevant work experience is an advantage. We prefer that you have experience in both forest production and forestry conservation issues. Experience in regulatory authority, knowledge of species in forest environments, the Administrative Procedure Act, and nature value assessments are advantageous, as well as experience and knowledge in the legal field. We value good knowledge in IT/GIS.

We place great importance on your personal qualities. You plan, organize, and prioritize your work well. You are thoughtful and analytical and have the ability to weigh complex information together, and you take responsibility for ensuring that your cases progress. The ongoing legal developments within the Swedish Forest Agency's supervisory work mean changes in the content of tasks, which requires high flexibility. You are communicative, pedagogical, and can engage in a trusting dialogue with landowners and various actors and stakeholders in the forestry sector.

You must have a good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

A valid driver's license (B) is a requirement.

Our Offer to You

We are looking for at least two forest consultants for permanent employment. Start date as soon as possible by agreement. We apply individual salary setting, remote work agreements, and flexible working hours.

We hope your stationing will be at one of our offices in Bollnäs or Ljusdal. The district also has offices in Gävle and Hudiksvall. Please indicate your preferred location in your application; stationing will be agreed upon.
